A lifelong resident of San Diego, Dave first worked as a law clerk for ADI in 1990 during his final year of law school at the University of San Diego, where he previously had earned B.A.'s in English and Religious Studies in 1979. He returned to ADI as an attorney in 1994 after working for a local law firm doing bankruptcy law and occasional panel cases from ADI. Dave has argued before the California Supreme Court and he assists in both criminal and dependency appeals. Away from work Dave likes Padres baseball games, agility dog shows, movies, books, and blogging. He is a member of several international organizations that advocate human exploration of space, and he has given public talks in person and been a guest on TV and radio around the United States on the subject.
