 MCLE COURSES ON THE INTERNET
 

There are a surprising number of organizations offering MCLE and CLE courses over the Internet. Some are FREE, some are low cost, and some are more moderately priced. ADI will attempt to keep you apprised of as many of the resources for on-line continuing education as we discover them. Many of the organizations require users to have Real Audio Player and Adobe Acrobat loaded on their computers. To obtain a free copy of the programs, click on the following images.

  

 

American Bar Association:
Members of the ABA can receive no-cost and low-cost CLE credit via the ABA Connection.

California Continuing Education of The Bar
A non-profit group that offers audio versions of some of their seminars.

California Lawyer CLE Center
Earn one hour of MCLE credit by reading one of the following articles and answering the questions on the corresponding answer form. Mail your answers with a check for $27 to the address on the answer form. You will receive the correct answers with explanations and an MCLE certificate within three weeks Center for Continuing Education
Since 1992, the Center for Continuing Education (CCE) has presented Continuing Legal Education seminars featuring some of the nation's most distinguished attorneys and experts. Digitally-recorded MCLE Audio programs from these seminars are available from their catalog. Click on the icon to listen to selected excerpts. CCE also offers state of the art online MCLE seminars in association with CLEOnline.com. The self-study tests, available online, are also a convenient way to earn, and learn, through scholarly, interesting articles.

CLE Casino
From EmplawyerNet. Operated by Pacific Legal Institute in Valley Village, California. Site users read articles, answer questions, and for less than $20 you will receive one MCLE credit.

CELESQ
Celesq's CLE course are authored and by experts in their legal feilds, including recognized legal authority and Harvard professor Arthur R. Miller. Courses offered in written, audio, or video formats.

CLE Online
A service of Educational Online Network. They offer more than 30 interactive programs. Prices here range from $25 for a one-hour seminar to $59 for three hours. The seminars here also give you a bulletin board, where you can communicate with other seminar registrants and ask questions to the speakers.

Digital Advocates:
Digital Advocates strives to select subjects which are timely, entertaining and non-promotional. They do not endorse or recommend any particular products or services. Their speakers sometimes demonstrate specific software programs and mention brands of computers, service companies, and computer products; however, the company claims never to put a program online just to sell you something. Their goal is to distribute legal education about technology that has real value

LegalEdCenter
West’s LegalEdcenter, offers content from the National Practice Institute, Practicing Law Institute, and Association of Trial Lawyers of America, among others. The price depends on the seminar; a Chicago Bar Association seminar on discovery strategies costs $100, but an upcoming seminar on the legal implications of terrorism (November 15-16) is free.

LegalSeminars.com
A division of Law.com in San Francisco, California. Site users can pay for courses individually or purchase the entire program for about $229. A two week course generally accounts for about 3 MCLE credits.

LegalSpan
This site has very little original content; it works primarily with affiliates, so not all of the seminars will be available to every state. LegalSpan also puts a timer on your program, and you won’t get credit unless you watch the whole seminar.

LexisOne
Lexis provides continuing education through Lexis its LexisOne site. The site features content from various providers, with over 136 accredited courses in 30 states. The pricing depends on the seminar taken.

MCLE-OnLine
An approved provider for California MCLE. MCLE courses are free to view. Once you have completed the on-line program, if you would like to receive state bar credit, you complete a form and pay a $10 fee. A certificate of completion will be mailed to you.

Practicing Law Institute
Offers a considerable library of seminars based upon live presentations.

Rutter Group Online
The site offers over 50 seminars, at prices ranging from $35/hour to $105/3 hours. You can become a Rutter Group Passholder for $395, which allows you access to all seminars.

Taecan

Track your CLE credits online, FREE. through their KeepTrack service.
