How to Build an Appellate Practice

Advancing Equity and Inclusion for Deaf People and People with Disabilities in Courtroom Settings

Hosted by OSPD. Due to higher rates of both criminalization and victimization, people with disabilities and Deaf people are more likely to interact with courts than people without disabilities. Additionally, court personnel and other legal professionals may also have disabilities. Yet, they often face inequities in these settings ranging from attitudinal barriers to inadequate and delayed accommodations. Kaitlin Kall and Kate Pollack of Activating Change will discuss different types of disabilities and the range of biases these communities commonly face and practices for enhancing equitable treatment, including securing language access for Deaf people and providing adequate accommodations for people with disabilities. This webinar qualifies for MCLE specialty credit civility in the legal profession.

1.5 hour of civility MCLE credit is offered for this training.

21st Century Technology in the Courtroom

New Racial Justice Act Online On-Demand Course

OSPD is excited to open a new on-demand course on the Racial Justice Act. You will learn all the basics,
refresh your knowledge, and stay up to date on RJA developments! These videos and written materials have
been collected from around the state and are meant to help practitioners regardless of their experience in
litigating the RJA.

Participants are able to receive MCLE Self Study and Specialty Credit for their hours working on the course (up to 10-hours).
